The number one request I get on the lesson tee is "Please help me tame my slice" A slice is when the ball curves to the right at the end of the flight (right-handed golfer) Typically it is more pronounced when hitting with the Driver, the ball begins it's flight straight and then curves to the right, sometimes a 30 yard curvature is seen with the Driver because more speed is generated with the Driver and there is low loft on Drivers. The Clubface position at impact (closed, square, or open) directly effects the beginning flight of the ball. The Path you swing the club on creates the curvature of the ball during the final direction of the flight. Often times a simple grip placement adjustment and an awareness to the amount of tension you feel in your grip and arms during the entire swing will tame a Slice. Watch the video below:
